Yes, You Can Wear An Off The Shoulder Top

Off the shoulder tops have long been a boho style staple, but did you know they can be chic and sophisticated as well?

First of all, the style is flattering on any body type.

It may seem completely counterintuitive that the off shoulder tops that are so popular this season (you know, the billowy ones that have elastic around the shoulder/bust area, and then hang loosely?) would look good on a curvy figure.  However, with a few styling tricks you can make the shirt’s shape complement your shape.

For instance, if you are afraid of looking like you’re wearing a potato sack, I suggest pairing it with something fitted and high waisted and then tucking it in.

Conversely, leaving the top untucked can be a great way to keep attention away from your waist.  The silhouette will draw attention to your collarbone and show off your shoulders instead.

However, I went with the first option, tucking mine into a neoprene pencil skirt paired with lace up sandals.  I love this look because its polished, yet still low maintenance and comfortable.

Love off the shoulder tops and I agree that they look great on everyone. I haven’t quite found one for me but I’ll keep looking. I like the tucked into a pencil skirt look. Xo.

You look fantastic as always! I love how you wear the top. I think you’re absolutely right that anyone can pull off an off the shoulder top, an open neckline is always a good idea!
